Gattuso disagrees: "Too much pessimism"

Gennaro Gattuso’s position on the Milan bench is now compromised so much so that a victory against Spal may not be enough for him to remain at the helm of the Rossoneri.

The coach from Calabria analyzed his team’s moment at the microphones of Milan Tv: “In difficult moments this team surprised everyone by playing with enthusiasm and without fear. With Torino and Bologna we could have pulled away from our rivals, but when the points start to weigh all the wizards of this group come out.”

On the Champions League race: “Until three days ago we were one point away from our Scudetto, which is the Champions League. We are a team that does things by halves, now we have fixed the defense, but we have problems in attack. On the half-balls lately we always arrive after the opponent.”

On Higuain always at the center of market rumors that want him close to Chelsea: “He missed an important penalty and got a red card with the whole world talking about him. When these things happen something stays with you. I want to see Pipita again from the second half against Frosinone. It is true that he was not good in terms of conclusions, but I want to see that kind of footballer again.”

On the continuation of the championship: “Right now there is too much pessimism. It’s true that we failed to make the leap, but I breathe an air I don’t like. When we were fourth it all seemed a foregone conclusion, but you have to consider what players we have at our disposal and which ones we have been missing. That’s no excuse, but some of the brilliance the absences have caused us to lose it. If we find the way of the goal again, the team will unlock mentally as it did after the first match with the goal unbroken. I think it’s a little short of that.”
