Change of livery for the Renault team in Formula 1: the French team, as anticipated by some rumors, unveiled in Melbourne, where the new season will begin on Sunday, the official color scheme of the single-seater that will take part in the 2016 world championship.
The all-black car with yellow inserts seen in the Barcelona tests, then, was only a “provisional” version: the one shown Wednesday to the world is all in yellow, the historic color of the French brand, which has been using it since 1946. Only the two ailerons and the sponsors’ lettering on the bodywork remain in black.
“The first Renault to take to the track in F1, in 1977, had these same colors,” explained Renault’s Managing Sport Director Cyril Abiteboul, “and we decided to pay homage to it this way, adding some modern details: we used colors that will reflect the lights in night races.
