Massimo Moratti does not see a'another Calciopoli: "This is silliness"

Massimo Moratti downplays the case that is shaking the Italian refereeing world and urges not to liken it to Calciopoli: “It looks like a small war between the various referees, I do not see comparisons with Calciopoli. In comparison, the current one is a silliness.”
According to the former Inter president, the affair concerns only the refereeing system and not the clubs: “Did the clubs ever talk to the referees to point out a liked profile? This concept did not belong to me. I also had fear and respect, because they could decide the fate of my team, especially considering I had Juventus on the other side. I imagined it was a difficult profession anyway. And so I didn’t talk to them.”
Moratti also commented on the hypothesis of introducing the referee draw, judging it a viable way to strengthen the distance between referees and clubs: “I find it a desirable solution. Any solution that makes the clubs estranged is desirable.”
The former Nerazzurri number one infatially ruled out malicious readings on the performance of referee directions, while acknowledging the weight of errors: “I don’t see any tricks anyway, seeing the matches it doesn’t seem to me something unbalanced. Inter had no help either when they won or when they lost. Then there are the refereeing errors that are serious, but these are things that always happen.”
