Everything changes on Walter Mazzarri’s future: deal in jeopardy

In the last few hours, the negotiation that should have brought Walter Mazzarri to the Iraklis Thessaloniki bench has suffered an abrupt halt: what seemed to be a close deal is now in strong doubt, our cousins of the always well-informed Hellenic portal Sportal.gr.

The Tuscan coach had been in Thessaloniki, visited the facilities and met with the club’s staff, with initially positive feelings. However, during the latest confrontation new elements emerged that changed the course of the negotiations.

According to rumors, Mazzarri would have made more demanding demands: an increase in salary, a longer contract and the possibility of including his trusted collaborators in the staff. In addition, he would have set as a fundamental condition a budget of more than 15 million euros to build a competitive team.

These new conditions have driven the parties apart, leading to a momentary halt in negotiations and calling into question the closing of the deal, at least for now.
