Reyer Venezia wants to go shopping at home Fortitudo Bologna

Reyer Venezia, which could change its face in the summer, starting with that of the coach, with Neven Spahija given packing his bags, is ready to go on the assault of Alvise Sarto, a Venetian class of 2000 who grew up in Benetton and Universo Treviso and is performing well at Fortitudo Bologna, to which he is bound by a two-year contract expiring in 2027. Among the alternatives, the orogranata consider Octavio Maretto, a 22-year-old wing-guard among the protagonists of Pesaro’s great season in A2: another club from the top league, Apu Udine, is moving on the 2004-born oriundo. The scenario could change drastically in case one between the Felsinians and Marche players, who will soon be engaged in the playoffs of the cadet division, should hit the promotion.
Sarto’s qualities were also blatantly confirmed during the playoffs, after a regular season in which the Venetian proved to be one of Effe’s most lethal weapons. Emblematic, in this sense, was his performance on the court of Brindisi, where he put up 24 points with 6/9 from the arc, proving to be the MVP of an external success that helped consolidate Fortitudo’s third place in the standings. Numbers that did not go unnoticed by the eyes of market observers, including Venice.
On the Orogranata bench front, meanwhile, the picture is becoming more and more defined. After Luca Banchi declined the offer to focus exclusively on the Azzurri project, the Venetian management has widened its range of action: contacts with the agents of Sasha Djordjevic are already underway, while the suggestion linked to Ettore Messina, who left the Olimpia Milano bench last November and has a contract with the biancorossa club expiring in June, remains alive. The list also includes Paolo Galbiati, currently at Baskonia, and Francesco Tabellini, who has just returned from his experience at Paris Basketball.
Chapter Maretto: the class of 2004 is no stranger to big places, having already had three seasons behind him with the Pesaro jersey, where he grew to become one of the most interesting elements of the Italian youth scene. The same player, introduced in the summer along with Matteo Imbrò and Salvatore Parrillo, had said he still had much to learn but felt at ease in a square that breathes basketball. An early maturity that is now attracting the interest of more Serie A clubs.
The Friulian Apu, just back from a salvation conquered with merit in its first season back in Serie A, is a credible contender: the Bianconeri club has already shown that it knows how to retain its jewels, as in the case of Andrea Calzavara, on whom it seems to have rejected the advances of Olimpia Milano. The market game for Maretto thus promises to be tight, with the outcome of the A2 playoffs destined to act as a decisive watershed for the ambitions of all involved.
