Pallacanestro Trieste committed Sunday at the Assago Forum against Olimpia Milano in the penultimate day of the Serie A regular season. Coach Taccetti pointed the way forward against the meneghini: “We know we have the tools to face teams of the highest level, those that command the LBA standings, but we must be good at maintaining concentration, physicality and energy throughout the 40 minutes.”

“Milan is a team that has many arrows to its bow. Right now it is trying to consolidate, as it often does, a roster that it will then carry forward into the final part of the season and probably into the playoffs. Within the 10-12 players who can take the court, there are really many elements capable of making the game, so there is no focus on a single individuality: we will have to play a game of choral solidity.”

Taccetti asked the team to take as a reference the last game they lost to Milan in the Coppa Italia: “I think the Turin game is significant for us in the preparation for Sunday’s game, because the moments of difficulty began when Milan imposed its physicality. We will have to be better in those situations not to lose ourselves and use our characteristics to attack them. At the same time it will be imperative to protect our backboards, because even last Sunday with Bologna we suffered a lot from offensive rebounds, as well as in Turin against Milan. This will be a fundamental aspect to stay inside the game.”

“We will also have to have the right tenacity to go beyond the mistakes that we will surely make, without losing confidence and positivity in what we know how to do. The Forum? It is one of the temples of basketball, a place where so many important games have been played over the years. However, as always in our work, when the two-ball goes up and we are there on the sidelines, the game is always the same: 28 meters, same baskets. We’re going to have to stay focused on what’s ahead.”
