Illness at'Old Trafford, big scare for Alex Ferguson

Big scare for Alex Ferguson before the Premier League match between Manchester United and Liverpool at Old Trafford. The Red Devils’ longtime manager fell ill an hour before the match with the Reds, and was transported by ambulance to hospital as a precaution after initially being treated by paramedics at the stadium.

The BBC reports that the former United manager is now well and that it was a precautionary measure, not an emergency. Ferguson, who won 38 trophies with the Manchester club, suffered a brain hemorrhage in 2018 but was able to return to normal life after a few days.According to rumors reported by the Daily Mail, the ailment would have nothing to do with his previous illness.

Ferguson, 84, regularly attends Manchester United matches at Old Trafford. His wife Cathy died in 2023 at the age of 84. They had been married for 57 years.

Manchester United overcame Liverpool 3-2 thanks to goals from Cunha, Sesko and Mainoo, securing its third place in the Premier League standings. The Reds did not need goals from Szoboszlai and Gakpo, in the final few minutes of the game for Chiesa.
