At San Siro, on the night that handed the Scudetto to Inter, among those in the stands was also Paola Egonu. The volleyball player, a well-known Nerazzurri fan, closely followed the decisive match against Parma, then shared some moments of her evening on social media.

In her stories, Egonu posted both pictures of the packed stadium and a shot of the big screen in a particularly heartfelt passage of the evening, when tribute was paid to Alex Zanardi, who was greeted by a long applause from the audience.

Before the whistle blew, she was also joined by DAZN for some banter about the anticipation of the match and the protagonists of the Nerazzurri season. On the possible MVP award, she unhesitatingly pointed to her favorite: “Lautaro MVP of the season? For me yes, it remains him. The most remarkable thing is how he is a guide for his teammates, and when he is not on the field you can feel his absence. Nothing to take away from the others, of course.”

For Egonu, the one in San Siro was also an evening of emotional unloading after an intense personal sports season not without disappointments. In fact, her Numia Vero Volley Milano ended the year with a bitter defeat in the scudetto final against Conegliano, which was confirmed for the eighth consecutive time as Italian champions. Despite the 24 points scored by the Italian star player in game-4, the Panthers won 3-0 and closed the series at 3-1. An epilogue that Egonu had commented on social media with great maturity: “A season that has taught me so much, on and off the court, has ended. Reducing everything to a score would not speak to what is behind it, which sometimes seems invisible.”
The Nerazzurri party night was therefore the best way for her to turn the page, immersed in the enthusiasm of the San Siro and the joy of a club to which she is deeply attached. Now, as Inter is already looking ahead to the May 13 Coppa Italia final against Lazio, Egonu too is looking to the future with the same spirit of revenge that she conveyed in her end-of-season message, “See you soon.”
