Adriano Panatta denies Jannik Sinner rumors and teases Zverev

From the studios of La Nuova DS, broadcast on Rai 2 HD, Adriano Panatta commented with his usual irony on yet another dominant performance by Jannik Sinner, fresh from his triumph in the Madrid Open final against Alexander Zverev. The world No. 1 overwhelmed the German with a clear 6-1 6-2 in just 57 minutes, a figure that alone tells of the total superiority shown on the court.
“He won his eighth Masters1000 only Rome is missing. I think Zverev has nightmares just thinking about Sinner, he just can’t express himself. Less than an hour lasted the final in Madrid. When you rent the court, you pay for an hour, here we did it sooner…,” Panatta said in a joking tone, emphasizing the rapidity of the match and the German’s difficulty in countering the Italian.
During the broadcast, the former champion then raised the level of praise for Sinner even further: “It’s incredible this guy who has a metaphysical relationship with the racket because it’s beyond any conception. What he is showing is extraterrestrial,” he said, noting the extraordinariness of his performance.
Finally, responding to rumors about the tennis player’s possible absence from the Internazionali in Rome, Panatta clarified, “A few good-timers have said it, but no one from his staff. He will play at the Foro Italico because it is right and then he also has to take the title away from me. So I am more relaxed,” closing his speech with a joke.
