Rome Act III for Davide Alviti

The new Roma continues its work behind the scenes ahead of May 28, the day when the transfer of the sports title from Cremona will be made official. Once the issue related to the coach has been defined, the club will then begin to build the group of Italians from which to start.
At the top of the wish list is the name of Nico Mannion, a target, however, also shared by Napoli, which is ready to give battle on the market. Instead, it will be the future coach to evaluate a possible assault on Davide Alviti, with Eurobasket and Virtus at the beginning of his career, last season in Varese but former Treviso, Trieste and Trento among others. In this regard, the candidacy of Jurica Golemac, a 49-year-old Slovenian coach who just returned from his experience in Dubai and a former player with a past also at Virtus Roma, is gaining more and more importance. The hypothesis linked to Sasha Djordjevic, who has been stationary for two seasons after a parenthesis at the helm of the Chinese national team, also remains alive.
On the Mannion front, the Neapolitan competition is anything but theoretical. Matt Rizzetta’s Napoli Basketball is ambitiously building a high-level roster, and Olimpia Milano’s point-guard – 25 years old last March, son of former Cantù Pace Mannion – is explicitly in the sights of the Campania club, led by new head coach Jasmin Repesa. A double race that promises to animate in the coming weeks one of the hottest chapters of the Serie A summer market.
As for Golemac, his experience in Dubai has left concrete traces on the European scene: on the bench of Dubai Basketball in the Euroleague, the Slovenian has shown his ability to compete at high levels, beating among others Olimpia Milano in the regular season. An international resume that could make the difference in the final evaluation of the new Roman ownership.
Different is the profile of Djordjevic, an option that fascinates because of the weight of the name but presents some unknowns related to the long period of inactivity. It should be noted, moreover, that Reyer Venezia would also be looking with interest at the Serbian coach for the post-Spahija position.
