Francesca Schiavone sweeps away all doubts about Jannik Sinner and exalts other Azzurri

Jannik Sinner’s elimination in the second round of Roland Garros continues to cause discussion. Everyone seems to have his or her own personal opinion as to why the world number 1’s misstep. In light of how well the other Italians are doing, regret grows for losing the best of the Azzurri on the road.
Francesca Schiavone, winner of Roland Garros in 2010, is currently in Paris. By now she devotes herself to coaching and, when she can, plays tennis with other legends of the circuit. No doubt Jannik Sinner will return to his highest level.
“Stress and tension are part of an athlete’s journey. He, however, is also the best in his ability to handle pressure; he is a master at that. So we will find him again very soon at his levels, certainly already at Wimbledon,” the words, to the Gazzetta dello Sport, of Francesca Schiavone herself.
Many compliments also to the other Azzurri who, at Roland Garros, are writing another historic page for Italian tennis: “The really extraordinary thing is that they make normal something that remains exceptional.”
