Carlos Alcaraz, double mystery on social between training and hospital

From the world of Carlos Alcaraz come updates amid funny pictures, training videos and a little mystery that has intrigued fans. The Spanish champion is continuing his recovery from the wrist injury suffered in Barcelona, a problem that forced him to miss the Masters 1000 in Madrid and Rome, as well as Roland Garros and the next edition of Wimbledon.
In the past few hours, on his Instagram profile, Alcaraz has shared a collection of shots titled “A slightly different May,” which recounts the last few months spent away from the courts. The images show him in moments of relaxation and recreation together with friends and family, including his brothers Jaime and Álvaro, conveying the image of a serene and positive athlete despite the forced stop.
Among the contents that have attracted the most attention are some training videos in which the tennis player grips the racket with his left hand to avoid stressing his injured wrist. With his right, however, he simulates the forehand motion, thus maintaining the technical feel of the shot. It was a choice that surprised many, even though Alcaraz has repeatedly told of feeling almost ambidextrous.
Generating some questions, however, was a photograph showing him in the hospital, wearing a medical gown and bracelet. The snapshot has fueled speculation about possible surgery, but there is currently no communication to that effect from the player or his entourage. The image may simply have been taken during a diagnostic checkup, such as an MRI, for which similar attire is often required.
In the meantime, after making the forfeit for Wimbledon official, Alcaraz continues on the road to recovery with the goal of returning to the court in the second half of the season, on cement, where the circuit awaits with interest the return of one of its most anticipated players.
