Flavio Briatore has no doubts when he talks about Jannik Sinner. The Piedmontese businessman, who knows the world’s number one tennis player well, identifies personality and seriousness as the qualities that most distinguish him, on and off the court.

“His personality and seriousness. At the end of the day, he’s a normal guy who plays good tennis and has started an incredible movement,” Briatore explained to Gazzetta dello Sport, emphasizing the impact the South Tyrolean champion has had on Italian sports.

Sinner’s success goes beyond individual results and represents a model capable of dragging an entire movement along. “You need champions like Sinner and Antonelli to create a movement. They are extraordinary examples, but they need to be left alone,” he added, likening the tennis player to the emerging Italian motor racing talent.

The entrepreneur then turned to the relationship between champions and public opinion, urging that athletes should not be burdened with undue pressure at the most delicate moments. “Italians specialize in criticism when uncertainties arrive,” Briatore concluded, pointing out that support should accompany champions not only in the phases of success, but also when difficulties and doubts emerge.

Words that confirm Briatore’s high regard for Sinner, who is considered not only a sports phenomenon, but also a point of reference for the new generations and for the growth of the entire Italian sports movement.
