Calciomercato Torino, eyes on Matteo Cancellieri

Before thinking about new signings, Lazio will have to focus on disposals. The goal is to lighten the squad and create the economic margin needed to operate in the market, which promises to be particularly careful about accounts. Among the players set to leave is Matteo Cancellieri, whose contract expires in 2027. On his profile, in addition to Parma and Fiorentina, there has also been recent interest from Torino.
It should be recalled that Cancellieri was among the protagonists of one of the most significant pages of the biancoceleste season: it was precisely the striker, along with Toma Basic, who had scored at the Maradona contributing to the defeat of Napoli, a result that had in fact paved the way for Inter to the twenty-first scudetto. A somewhat symbolic exit for a player who, despite his demonstrated qualities, does not fit into the club’s future plans.
As far as possible offensive reinforcements are concerned, the name of Bjerkebo, a Swedish left-handed outside forward born in 2003 and currently with Sirius, has emerged in recent weeks. This is a young and prospective profile, in line with the strategy already followed for Asp.
In defense, on the other hand, several players remain monitored. These include Brighton’s Diego Coppola, who has just returned from his experience on loan at Paris FC, Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Chiarodia and Lautaro Rivero, an Argentine defender owned by River Plate.
On the Coppola front, the situation is at an advanced stage: Lazio has identified the class of 2003 as the central player on which to build the defense of the present and future. According to reports from Corriere dello Sport, the Biancoceleste club is reportedly working on a loan deal with a buy-back obligation set at 12 million euros, a formula liked by both the player and Brighton. The main knot remains the salary: Coppola receives one million net per season, a figure that Lazio would not like to tweak upward, while the defender’s entourage is aiming for an adjustment by virtue of the starting role he would be guaranteed from day one.
