Giacomo Agostini on Marc Marquez: “Maybe I’ll tell him to stop…”

Multiple world champion Giacomo Agostini spoke about Marc Marquez—who won his ninth career world title in 2025—in an interview with Gpone.com: “Marc is getting back to his former form. There’s going to be a great battle between him, Bezzecchi, Martín, and Bagnaia. That’s exactly what the fans expect—epic battles. I think it’ll be a spectacle right up until the end of the season.”
The 15-time world champion joked about the possibility of Marc Marquez breaking his records: “Records are meant to be broken, but of course everyone cares about their own records—it’s normal, it’s human nature. As long as they remain mine, I’m happy to have them.”
“If someone were to break them, I hope I’ll still be here to celebrate together. It’s possible for Marquez, but it’s not easy. We’ll see—I’ll talk to him… maybe I’ll tell him to stop sooner!” joked Agostini.
Agostini was at the opening of his museum in Bergamo: “I’d been thinking about expanding my trophy room for a while, so I changed locations. I decided to create this museum because I also wanted to think of my fans and my friends who are motorcycle enthusiasts. I’d like to leave a legacy—so they can see and understand what Ago accomplished during his motorcycle racing career. I didn’t expect so much glory or so many triumphs as I’ve achieved, so I have to thank Mother Nature for giving me this great passion, and I also have to thank the people who’ve stood by me and worked with me to achieve these successes.”
