Another prestigious award for Federica Brignone: it comes straight from Milan

Yet another honor for an athlete who embodies Italian sporting excellence. Federica Brignone received an award directly from Milan, her hometown.
During the traditional ceremony at Palazzo Marino, Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala presented Federica Brignone with the Ambrogino d’Oro for her outstanding athletic achievements. The Ambrogino is the highest honor that the Lombard metropolis bestows upon its citizens (Federica Brignone was born in Milan).
“A great honor,” said Federica Brignone, who, following the Milan-Cortina Olympics, has been racking up awards and accolades, a testament to the affection and fame that the Italian champion has earned in the hearts of countless fans.
Present at the ceremony were Flavio Roda, President of the Italian Winter Sports Federation; Franco Zecchini, President of FISIO Alpi Centrali; Marco Riva, President of CONI Lombardy; and Claudia Giordani, Olympic silver medalist at Innsbruck ’76.
