Mancini’s Italy overturns Albania: comeback signed by Grifo and Di Lorenzo
Italy wins in Albania but loses Tonali
A comeback victory for Roberto Mancini’s national team in Tirana in the friendly against Albania. Italy, which had gone into a disadvantage in the 16th after Empoli defender Ardian Ismajili’s goal, was able to react by finding the equalizer with Giovanni Di Lorenzo and after not even five minutes, the winning goal with Freiburg forward Vincenzo Grifo.
The same number 20 sealed the game in the 64th with the 1-3 goal for the reigning European national champion.
The bad news for Mancini and the Azzurri concerns Sandro Tonali: the Milan midfielder was in fact forced to leave the field of play on a stretcher, due to a bad fall in which he hit his head and shoulder.
The episode that happened to Leonardo Bonucci is also curious: in the second half, a not-so-friendly chorus was raised by Albanian supporters towards the defender and captain of the Azzurri: a situation that was also remarked by Rai commentator Alberto Rimedio.
