Olimpia Milano: Moses Wright is official—another piece of the red-and-white mosaic is in place

Olimpia Milano officially has a new center: American Moses Wright, who will also hold a Cypriot passport starting in 2024 (which will allow him to play as an EU player), and who also played in the EuroLeague last season for Zalgiris Kaunas.

“I’m excited about this new chapter in my career,” Wright told Olimpia’s official channels. “I can’t wait to meet all the fans and come play in Milan. I know I’m coming to a beautiful city with a rich cultural heritage, and I’m also happy to get to work for Olimpia. Together, we can make sure something special happens this year.”

Born in 1998 and originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, Moses Wright graduated from Georgia Tech in 2021 without being selected in the NBA Draft, despite his strong stats while playing for the Yellow Jackets. After a couple of seasons split between the G League and the NBA (Clippers, Mavericks, and their affiliates), he first chose to move to China, playing for the Zhejiang Golden Bulls and the Shanxi Loongs, then came to Europe to play for Merkezefendi (Turkey), Olympiacos (Greece), and Zalgiris Kaunas (Lithuania).

Olimpia Milano’s roster is therefore nearing completion: the only piece missing from the red-and-white puzzle is Garrison Mathews, with whom negotiations are reportedly in the final stages; an official announcement from the Milan-based club is expected, and the arrival of the guard—born in 1996—would complete the roster available to coach Peppe Poeta.
