The bar is missing and he takes a terrible fall; the champion ends up in the hospital

Moments of sheer terror during the Commonwealth Games: Gabriel Langton took a hard fall during a routine on the horizontal bar and lay motionless on the mat. The team rushed to his aid, and the champion was subsequently taken to the hospital.
Fortunately, the tests Langton underwent ruled out any injuries, and the athlete has already rejoined the team. Here is the statement from British Gymnastics: “Gabriel was taken to the hospital as a precaution overnight and underwent several tests today, with very positive results. Fortunately, he has no serious complications from his injuries and has been discharged to return to the hotel with the team.”
“He is in good spirits and extremely grateful for the many messages of support and the excellent care provided by the medical teams. He can’t wait to rejoin the team to celebrate the silver medal,” the statement concludes.
The Commonwealth Games, which are taking place this year in Glasgow, Scotland, will last 10 days and feature over 200 events. Approximately 3,000 athletes from 74 countries are participating in the competition. Ten sports will be contested: track and field, swimming, artistic gymnastics, track cycling, netball, weightlifting, boxing, judo, bocce, and 3×3 basketball.
