Alessio Romagnoli may stay in Serie A; a top club is interested

The agent for the Lazio defender has stated that he cannot envision a future at Lazio for his client, and the center back’s future appears to lie far from Rome in any case. According to the latest rumors, Maurizio Sarri has asked Atalanta’s management to make an exploratory inquiry to assess the feasibility of a possible transfer.

Alessio Romagnoli has a contract with Lazio through 2027, and Claudio Lotito is forced to sell him this summer to avoid losing him for free in 12 months. Maurizio Sarri knows him well from their time together at Lazio and now wants him in Bergamo as well.

Born in 1995, Romagnoli has always been a huge Lazio fan but came up through Roma’s youth system. Between 2014 and 2015, he played on loan at Sampdoria and then moved to Milan, where he remained until 2022. With the Rossoneri—for whom he captained the team in several matches—he won one Scudetto and one Italian Super Cup. Four years ago, he joined Lazio on a free transfer.
