At Pallacanestro Cantù, which has already lost some valuable pieces such as Giordano Bortolani and Xavier Sneed and which will lose others, such as Oumar Ballo, is interested in Andrea Loro, a handsome prospect from Verona: the class of 2003 who exploded in Bergamo started the A2 playoff finals against Rimini, it will be necessary to wait for the outcome of the post season, with the Scaligeri who on Sunday night went 1-0 in the series. It is also possible that he will remain in Verona, in case of promotion of Ramagli’s team, his coach also in his experience with Gruppo Mascio, parked on loan from Olimpia Milano.

Leading the new Cantù will be Frank Vitucci, who took Walter De Raffaele’s place: the Venetian coach was called by new general manager Simone Giofrè, with whom he has already shared winning experiences in Varese and especially in Brindisi, where together they built a cycle that included four playoff scudetto qualifiers and two Italian Cup finals. Vitucci arrives after clinching promotion to Serie A with Scafati last season, also being honored as the best coach in Serie A2.

His stated goal is clear: “It will be important to share goals, to know who we are and where we want to go, all going in one direction.” Among the names being followed to reinforce the roster is also that of J.P. Macura, the protagonist of Treviso’s salvation and much loved by the Veneto fans, although interest in the guard is also reported from Udine. A market in full evolution, then, for a Cantù that aims to build around Vitucci and Giofrè a solid project, with captain Riccardo Moraschini who seems close to staying on as a staple on which to build the team.
