Brindisi sends a message to everyone: a major coup for Serie A2

Valtur Brindisi has pulled off a major coup ahead of the upcoming Serie A2 season. According to PianetaBasket, the Apulian club has signed JaCorey Williams, formerly of Trento and Napoli, who spent the first half of last season playing in Greece and then moved to Maccabi Ra’anana in Israel.

According to reports, Williams has signed a two-year contract with Valtur: the player was reportedly persuaded to play in Serie A2 both by a substantial offer and by Brindisi’s future ambitions.

Having developed his basketball skills at the universities of Arkansas and Tennessee, Williams has played for PAOK Thessaloniki, Aquila Trento, JL Bourg-en-Bresse, Napili, Buducnost, Hapoel Jerusalem, and Maroussi Athens during his career. He also had a stint in Dubai.

He has already played in the Champions League and the EuroLeague. In Italy, he played for Trento in the 2020–21 season, averaging 18.2 points and 7.8 rebounds. That same season, he was coached by Nicola Brienza, who is now with Brindisi. Two years later, he played for Napoli (15.1 points and 7.9 rebounds).
