The “Giovanni Zini” Stadium in Cremona will host, starting at 8:45 p.m. on Monday evening, the Round of 32 match in the 2026–2027 Coppa Italia between Cremonese and Sampdoria, a clash between two Serie B teams. The Grigiorossi are coming off a fairly successful preseason, while the Blucerchiati are fresh off a solid 2-0 friendly win against Parma (a team that, incidentally, awaits the winner of this match in the round of 32).

Despite their relegation from Serie A, Cremonese have started anew under Marco Giampaolo, who took over from Davide Nicola in the final stretch of last season’s league campaign. This summer, in preseason friendlies, they recorded two wins (4-0 against Giana Erminio and 1-0 against Hellas Verona), interspersed with a 1-1 draw against Cittadella and a 0-0 draw against Lumezzane. Forward David Stuckler, who joined from Vicenza, is one of the most eagerly anticipated new additions: Giampaolo is expected to start him up front alongside Bonazzoli from the opening whistle.

On the other side, there’s a spirit of renewal and a desire for redemption as Sampdoria heads into its fourth consecutive season in Serie B. Bernardo Corradi has been named head coach; he previously worked alongside Massimiliano Allegri at Milan during the 2025–2026 season. Among the players, new signing Lauritsen—who joined from Sparta Rotterdam and scored against Parma—has drawn particular interest. In the Siena-born coach’s 4-3-3 formation, there should also be room in the attack for Sinani and Forte.

Probable lineups

CREMONESE (3-5-2): Fulignati, Bianchetti, Luperto, Folino; Garli, Collocolo, Pontisso, Vandeputte, Pezzella; Stuckler, Bonazzoli. Coach: Giampaolo.

SAMPDORIA (4-3-3): Vindahl, Di Pardo, Viti, Gartenmann, Cicconi; Henderson, Esposito, Bellemo; Sinani, Lauritsen, Forte. Coach: Corradi.
