Mikaela Shiffrin dominates and warns Goggia and Brignone, only one Azzurra is saved
Mikaela Shiffrin immediately granted an encore in Finland
Second slalom of the year and second win for Mikaela Shiffrin, who began the Women’s Alpine Ski World Cup as best she could by dominating the two races held in Levi, Finland.
The U.S. champion after Saturday’s success granted an encore on the Finnish slopes, taking her 76th career victory, the sixth in Levi. In second place was Switzerland’s Holdener, then Slovakia’s Vlhova.
Badly the Azzurre: absent the big names including Sofia Goggia and Federica Brignone, the only Italian to take points was Anita Gulli, 23rd at over three seconds. Now it’s off to Killington, USA, where our champions will also make their debut. But Shiffrin has already given a clear signal to all of them.
