APU Udine chose to use a touch of humor to bid farewell to Mirza Alibegovic, who has accepted an offer from Maxima Roma. “APU Udine announces that Mirza Alibegovic will not be part of the Bianconeri roster for the 2026/27 season.
After three seasons, 105 appearances, and a career marked by leadership, Mirza and APU are parting ways. The time has come for him to embark on a new adventure, and when the heart calls, there’s nothing left to do but follow it.”

“Mirza was under contract with APU for another two years, but faced with his determination, the club had no choice but to grant his wish and let him go. A contract can bind a player to a club, but it cannot and must not hold his heart back. We could never have imagined having an unhappy captain with us: someone who has given so much to this jersey deserves to be able to freely choose his own path.”

“Mirza was much more than just a player. He was our captain, a guiding force on and off the field, and one of the iconic figures of seasons that will forever remain in the club’s history and in the hearts of our fans.
He wore the black-and-white jersey with pride, passion, and a sense of belonging, making a decisive contribution to the achievements we’ve made and sharing unforgettable emotions with Udine.”

“Go, Mirza. Go wherever you want to go and wherever your heart takes you. Thank you for everything you’ve given to this jersey and this city. Goodbye, Captain—best of luck on your new adventure. Udine will always be your home, and we thank you.”
