Milan: A Moving Tribute in Memory of Franco Baresi

Ac Milan

“6 Forever” embodies the Rossoneri community’s affection for Franco Baresi and the significance of that number, which, in Milan’s history, has become synonymous with the captain, loyalty, and legend. An unbreakable bond forged from memory, belonging, and passion that will be celebrated throughout the 2026–27 season with a special commemorative patch on the jerseys of the First Teams, Milan Futuro, and the Primavera.

The tribute comes directly from the fans. The letters that make up the phrase “6 forever” were, in fact, chosen from among the countless handwritten messages left by supporters in the guestbook set up at Casa Milan in the days following Baresi’s passing.

The patch will be placed on the left sleeve of the jersey—the very arm on which Franco wore the captain’s armband for over 700 matches between 1982 and 1997. This symbolic detail further strengthens the bond between that jersey, the number 6, and one of the greatest icons in Rossoneri history.

The debut is set for Saturday, August 22, during the Serie A Women’s Cup match against Como Women at the PUMA House of Football. The following day, Sunday, August 23, the men’s First Team will wear it for the first time in their Serie A away match against Torino.

Fans will also be able to have the patch applied for free at AC Milan Stores with the purchase of an official 2026/27 season jersey. “6 Forever” will thus accompany the Rossoneri teams throughout the season, becoming a distinctive symbol and a tribute to Franco Baresi. It’s a way to keep the memory of the Captain alive and celebrate the eternal bond between Baresi, Milan, and its fans.
