Rome Transfer Market: Official Offer for Chelsea’s Outgoing Winger

Roma is turning its attention to another target to bolster Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack. While negotiations with Lyon for Malick Fofana are currently on hold, the Giallorossi are looking to the Premier League, specifically at one of Chelsea’s many surplus players.
Jamie Gittens, a winger born in 2004, is the capital club’s new target; according to Sportitalia, Roma has already submitted an official request to the Blues for the player’s loan. At the moment, the London club has not yet agreed to a temporary transfer, but a year in Serie A could boost the market value of the English player, who arrived a year ago from Borussia Dortmund for 65 million euros and has rarely impressed in England.
Gasperini is very fond of Gittens’ profile, and his arrival would allow Roma to strengthen their squad without investing particularly large sums. In the Premier League, Gittens has started just four times, hampered in part by muscle issues. At Roma, he could find the playing time he needs, and the club is looking for a player with his attributes—someone capable of bringing unpredictability to the attack. The situation could develop in the coming days, especially if other negotiations (such as the one for Fofana) fail to move forward.
It’s not just about the attack: Roma are also working to strengthen their defensive flanks. Among the players being monitored are Hector Fort of Barcelona, the young Cacciamani of Torino—valued by the Granata at between 18 and 20 million, compared to a Giallorossi offer of around 10 million— Destiny Udogie of Tottenham, a player particularly favored by Gasperini but with a high price tag of around 25 million euros, and Jayden Oosterwolde of Feyenoord, valued at 20 million euros.
