Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus kicks off the season on the road, facing Frosinone at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday in a match counting toward the first matchday of the Serie A season. Frosinone is coming off a convincing victory in the Coppa Italia against Juve Stabia and is looking to get off to a strong start in front of its home crowd; the Bianconeri need to start on the right foot in what must be a season of redemption after a dismal year.

Alvini is expected to start Raimondo up front, with Ghedjemis and Schmid providing support. Masini and Calò will anchor the midfield, while Oyono and Terzic will play on the wings. The defensive trio in front of Palmisani consists of Calvani, Monterisi, and Bracaglia.

Spalletti is starting Kolo Muani from the 1st minute in the Bianconeri attack, with Conceiçao, McKennie, and Yildiz in the attacking midfield. In midfield, Douglas Luiz makes his debut from the start, partnering captain Locatelli, while Thuram—not yet at his best—will start on the bench. In defense, Kalulu and Cambiaso are on the wings, with the center-back pairing of Bremer and Kelly in front of Vicario. The two new signings, Lucumi and Alajbegovic, start on the bench.

Frosinone vs. Juventus: Probable Lineups
FROSINONE (3-4-2-1): Palmisani; Calvani, Monterisi, Bracaglia; Oyono, Masini, Calò, Terzic; Ghedjemis, Schmid; Raimondo. Coach: Alvini
JUVENTUS (4-2-3-1): Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Douglas Luiz; Conceição, McKennie, Yildiz; Kolo Muani. Head Coach: Spalletti

Here’s what Spalletti had to say the day before the match: “We’ve had a good transfer window, but there’s still work to be done… We’ve improved, though I don’t know if we’ve closed the gap on Inter: there are 7–8 teams, including Fiorentina, that will be fighting for the top four spots. We need to prove we’re good and win more games than last year. Milan had a great transfer window; Napoli and Inter were already very strong; and Roma had a good transfer campaign.”
