Juric’s Disappointment, Runjaic’s Joy

Monza coach Ivan Juric seemed very disappointed after his team’s 3-2 home loss to Udinese: “Our first half was perfect; unfortunately, we brought those goals on ourselves. In the second half, we didn’t play well for about a quarter of an hour, but then we got back into it—we need to be more aggressive.”

Here’s what Kosta Runjaic had to say: “I’m very happy with the win; we earned it against a team that fights hard and has the enthusiasm of a newly promoted side. We conceded two avoidable goals.”

“We missed more than one chance to make it 4-1, and when you miss those chances, you take risks—especially since they cut the deficit in half. Our primary goal is to avoid relegation; we’ll think about Europe later, if necessary.”

Thanks to this win, Udinese has climbed to 4 points in the standings, while Monza remains stuck at zero. The Bianconeri, who took the lead through Piotrowski, were tied by Colpani but pulled away late in the first half with goals from Kamara and Ekkelenkamp. Varela scored in the second half, but it wasn’t enough for Monza to get back into the game.
