According to Sky Sport, the talks that have taken place in recent hours between Juventus and Atlético Madrid regarding the transfer of Jonathan David to the Colchoneros are considered “very positive,” and the deal is now close to being finalized. The parties have agreed on a loan with an option to buy, a deal that would allow the Bianconeri to free up salary cap space and move decisively to sign a new center forward. Once the final contractual details are settled, the Canadian player could leave as early as Tuesday.

As soon as Juventus completes David’s departure, they will push for another forward: the race is now down to two candidates, Joshua Zirkzee and Nick Woltemade, with the German having suddenly taken the lead. Luciano Spalletti is particularly fond of him and, in recent hours, is said to have had direct contact with the player, expressing his desire to integrate him into his attacking system. The coach considers the 2002-born player a good fit due to his technical skills and ability to serve as a target man in the penalty area.

Napoli has also expressed interest in the German player, who is under contract with Newcastle United, and continues to monitor the situation.
