Valtur Brindisi, Captain Andrea Cinciarini: An Appeal to the Fans

A leader both on and off the court, with a wealth of experience to share with his teammates and the entire organization: Andrea Cinciarini has been named captain of Valtur Brindisi for the 2026/27 season.

“Cincia” was the first player confirmed for the blue-and-white roster, a key piece on which to rebuild the sports and technical project entrusted to Coach Nicola Brienza. The captain will wear the No. 40 jersey for the first time in his career, a choice influenced by several factors: 40 as in the age he just turned, 40 as in 20+20—his historic number, which he can no longer wear in Brindisi because it has been retired and permanently assigned to Claudio Malagoli.

The point guard, the all-time leading assist leader in Italian basketball history, played in all forty-one (41) games of last season’s Serie A2 campaign, including the Italian Cup and playoffs, finishing first in the individual standings as the top assist leader (7.7 per game) and in steals (1.8 per game). In total, with Valtur Brindisi, he dished out 303 assists, with a season high of 14 assists against Rimini on November 12 during the 11th round of the league, just one step away from record-holder Daniele Parente’s total of 309 during his years in Brindisi from 2006 to 2009 in Serie B and A2. Yet another record that’s about to be broken.
