La Liga 2026–2027: Valencia vs. Barcelona, Probable Lineups

Valencia and Barcelona face off at 4:15 p.m. in a match for the fourth round of the Spanish La Liga. Valencia has gotten off to a rough start, picking up just one point in their first three games, and is coming off a tough loss in La Coruña. The Blaugrana, on the other hand, are looking to capitalize on Real Madrid’s loss on Saturday in Seville to take sole possession of first place in the league standings: Flick’s team remains undefeated, with 12 goals scored and 2 conceded in three games.

Corberan is starting Sadiq as the center forward, supported on the wings by Sato and Guerra. Rioja and Vazquez are the fullbacks, while in midfield, Pepelu will be flanked by Ugrinic.

Hansi Flick is expected to start Raphinha as Barcelona’s center forward: new arrival Gabriel Jesus is likely to start on the bench again. In the attacking midfield, the ever-present Lamine Yamal will play alongside Fermin and Gordon. In midfield, Rodri is expected to start and could play from the 1st minute alongside Pedri.

At a press conference, Flick explained his latest lineup choices as follows: “Raphinha is our best option at the number nine position. He always cuts inside; he needs to be involved in the play. He brings pressure, intensity, and speed. He defends well and is always in good shape. Gabriel Jesus? I liked what I saw in practice; he’s ready to play a few minutes. He can offer the team different options during the game, especially in the second half.”
