Juventus Has Never Performed This Poorly in the Last Five Years

Juventus has had its worst start to a league season in the last five years. To find worse numbers, you have to go back to 2021–22, the season that coincided with Massimiliano Allegri’s return to the Bianconeri bench. At that time, the team managed to accumulate just two points, scoring four goals and conceding six, for an average of only 0.5 points per game. Despite the initial struggles, Juve eventually climbed back up to fourth place, securing qualification for the Champions League with three games to spare.

The current situation isn’t quite as critical, but the numbers remain discouraging. The Bianconeri have earned seven points, scoring six goals and conceding four. Their average is therefore 1.75 points per game, which is lower than at the start of previous seasons. In fact, by this point in the 2023–24 and 2025–26 seasons, Juventus had already reached 10 points, while in 2022–23 and 2024–25 they had earned eight.

This decline is also evident when analyzing the defense’s performance. At the same point in the 2024–25 season, Juventus had not yet conceded any goals, while in 2022–23 they had conceded only one and in 2023–24, two.

The four goals conceded in the current season thus confirm a lack of solidity compared to recent seasons, though they remain below the six goals conceded during the difficult start to the 2021–22 season.
