Jorge Martín is back in action in Austria: his goals are to get back in shape and redeem himself

Just a few days after the Misano Grand Prix, it’s already time for Jorge Martín to get back on the track. The fifteenth round of the season takes Aprilia Racing to Styria, where the Spanish rider will try to build on the positive signs from last weekend, while also dealing with the physical issue he experienced during Sunday’s race.
At Misano, Martín had shown promising signs, starting with his third-place finish in the Sprint race. In the main race as well, his feel for the bike and his pace were positive, but as the laps went by, the Aprilia rider felt increasing discomfort in his forearm, likely due to compartment syndrome. This issue affected his performance, ultimately resulting in a fifth-place finish.
Austria will therefore serve as an important test, even from a physical standpoint. Martín wants to see how his arm will react to the demands of an entire race weekend before evaluating possible solutions to the problem together with his entourage and the team.
On the technical front, the Spaniard is looking forward to the upcoming race with confidence. In fact, he enjoys the Austrian circuit, and the work carried out by Aprilia is allowing him to gradually gain more confidence with the bike.
“Misano didn’t go exactly as we expected, but we’re focusing on the positives,” explained Martín, highlighting the strong pace he showed before the forearm issue arose. Now all attention is focused on Austria, with the goal of dispelling any doubts and building a solid weekend right from the first practice sessions.
For Martín, it will also be his last European round before the start of the championship’s non-European leg. It’s an important event to regain consistency and, above all, to verify that his physical condition allows him to perform at his best.
