2026 ATP Finals: Just like last year, Jannik Sinner will face a challenger for the No. 1 ranking

With the season’s final Grand Slam now in the books (won by Sasha Zverev), attention has already turned to the ATP Finals. The 2026 edition is scheduled to take place, once again in Turin, from November 15 to 22. Naturally, there’s intense anticipation to see Jannik Sinner, winner of the last two editions, back in action.

The South Tyrolean will be testing his knee in the coming weeks, partly to ensure he’s in top form for the ATP Finals—a “home” tournament that means the world to him. Last year, in addition to winning the trophy, he battled Carlos Alcaraz for the world No. 1 ranking at the end of the season.

Well, that will almost certainly happen again this year. His rival won’t be Carlos Alcaraz but Alexander Zverev, who—thanks to his many victories this season—could arrive in Turin with a chance to be crowned the new world No. 1. In short, Jannik Sinner will have his work cut out for him.

Keep an eye on Carlos Alcaraz, too. The ATP Finals have never gone his way. In fact—incredible but true—he has never won what used to be the Masters. In addition to last year’s loss in the final, the Spaniard has always struggled in the “tournament of the eight masters.” Perhaps he’ll be the dark horse. Everyone, however, hopes that the three stars arrive in Turin in top form, so they can deliver thrilling matches and tennis of the highest quality.
