Paolo Cané offers his services for free; Lorenzo Musetti thanks him, but…

Lorenzo Musetti has clarified his future and responded to the offer from Paolo Canè, who had recently expressed his willingness to coach him for free. The Italian tennis player publicly appreciated the former Italian player’s words, while reiterating his confidence in the staff currently working with him.

“I’m really pleased; I’m truly proud of what he said about me. The fact that he offered his help in that way—in typical Paolo fashion—is something that certainly makes me very happy. I think I’m doing well with my current team. The 2026 season isn’t over yet; for next season, we’ll see if there are any changes or not, but for now, there’s no news.”

No imminent changes, then, even though Musetti hasn’t ruled out the possibility of changes ahead of next season. Before thinking about 2027, however, the Italian wants to focus on the important tournaments awaiting him in the coming weeks.

“Ready for Vienna? First up are Tokyo and Shanghai, which are, in any case, two very important tournaments—a 500 and a 1000. I think there are conditions where I can play good tennis, especially if I’m in good physical shape. The goal and focus right now are on the Asian tour.”

The Carrara native has thus confirmed his participation in the ATP 500 in Tokyo, scheduled for September 30 through October 6, and the Masters 1000 in Shanghai, set for October 7–18, 2026. These are two major events on which Lorenzo intends to focus his energy and attention before tackling the final stretch of the season.
