Amedeo Della Valle Speaks Out Again After Saying “No” to Roma

Openjobmetis Varese unveiled its roster and new official uniforms for the 2026–27 season at the Santuccio Theater. The event, reserved for the club’s sponsors, also served as an opportunity to share expectations and thoughts ahead of the start of the new season.
Coach Ioannis Kastritis also took the floor, focusing in particular on the technical and personal qualities of the team assembled over the summer and expressing great confidence ahead of Varese’s upcoming matches in Italy and Europe: “The season is about to begin; we’re pumped and can’t wait to take the court. I want to thank the club and its management, who have enabled us to build an extraordinary team—one made up not only of talented players but of people whom it’s a privilege to coach.”
Among the most eagerly anticipated faces of the evening was, of course, Amedeo Della Valle, one of the key reinforcements who arrived during the summer transfer window. The former Olimpia and Brescia player, who turned down Roma, spoke about his positive experience with his new team and the warm welcome he’s received from the fans right from the start: “I’m really enjoying my time in Varese: from day one, everyone has been doing everything possible to help me settle in and make me feel like part of the team.”
“I also feel a lot of warmth in the city; many fans stop me on the street, and this enthusiasm is palpable everywhere,” added Della Valle. “I’m really excited about the season ahead, even though it’s too early to say what kind of team we’ll be: we’re still in the middle of the preseason, and the real answers will only come when it counts—when we’re competing for the Coppa Italia and the playoffs. We’ll have to work hard to be ready for that moment, when the season really gets going.”
