Tragic Death of Leone Di Lernia’s Son, Davide

A tragic accident occurred overnight in Milan, where Davide Antonio Di Lernia, 47, the son of Leone Di Lernia, lost his life after crashing his motorcycle into a railing. His father, known for his musical parodies and work as a radio host, had died in 2017.

The accident occurred shortly after midnight between Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, on Via Mecenate, in the eastern part of the Lombard capital. For reasons yet to be determined, the 47-year-old reportedly lost control of the motorcycle while heading toward Piazza Ovidio.

The motorcycle reportedly veered suddenly to the left, crashing into the metal structure protecting the tram stop. The impact was extremely violent, and there was nothing that could be done for Di Lernia: there is a gruesome detail that we prefer not to report but which many media outlets are discussing.

Rescue workers who arrived on the scene could only confirm the motorcyclist’s death. Officers from the local police patrol unit also arrived, conducted an investigation, and ordered the motorcycle to be impounded.

The reasons that caused the 47-year-old to lose control of the motorcycle still need to be determined. Investigators are reconstructing the sequence of events to determine what happened in the moments immediately preceding the crash.
