MotoGP Austria: First Win for Pedro Acosta, Followed by Aprilia. Marc Marquez Struggles

Pedro Acosta’s First Win: The KTM rider claimed his first-ever MotoGP victory by winning the Austrian Grand Prix at the Red Bull Ring, his team’s home track. The Spanish rider, who had thrown away victory in Saturday’s Sprint race by crashing in the final laps, made no mistakes this time: after passing Jorge Martin on the seventh lap, he sped away to victory, and no one was able to stop him.

Joining him on the podium were the two Aprilias ridden by Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi. The World Championship leader finished in second place after a final duel with his teammate from Rimini, who had to settle for third place. In fourth place was the other Aprilia ridden by returning rider Ai Ogura.

It was a very difficult Sunday, however, for reigning world champion Marc Marquez, who finished fifth: rider number 93 struggled with his bike the entire time after a complicated start and a long run that nearly cost him a top-5 finish. Seventh place went to the other rider from the Ducati factory team, Pecco Bagnaia, who improved on his performance from a week ago at Misano; Fabio Di Giannantonio of VR46 also finished in the top 10.
