Hellas Verona: Plans for the New Stadium Unveiled at City Hall

Hellas Verona has presented the City of Verona with plans for a new 30,000-seat multifunctional stadium, designed not only for soccer: the goal is to make it usable year-round for sports, events, hospitality, retail, and entertainment. The project for the new stadium—which would be built on the site of the current Bentegodi Stadium—is valued at 300 million euros, Hellas Verona explains in a press release.

The cost will be financed primarily through private investments by the club’s owners, with a public contribution in line with similar development projects promoted under the Stadiums Law. The new facility would be capable of hosting matches starting with UEFA Euro 2032. The Club’s preliminary analysis leading up to the development of the proposal took into account technical, functional, economic-financial, environmental, and urban planning aspects and was conducted with the support of a specialized team of advisors comprising Gensler, Sportium, iDEAS, Arup, GAD, KPMG, Linklaters, and Studio Inzaghi, coordinated by Colliers as project manager.

Another key element of the transformation program is ensuring the continuity of the Club’s sporting activities during the approximately three years of construction. Based on the current project timeline, the new stadium is scheduled for completion by the 2031–32 season, subject to obtaining the necessary permits and the subsequent phases of the development process.

To allow Hellas Verona to continue playing in the city, the plan calls for the temporary expansion of the current Olivieri facility on Via Sogare, located near the Bentegodi Stadium itself.
