Zvonimir Boban slams Ruben Amorim and is very critical of Milan

Zvonimir Boban certainly didn’t mince words during his appearance on “Radio Anch’io Sport” on RadioUno. The former Milan star spoke candidly about the Rossoneri’s situation: “We can’t be mediocre; if we’re willing to accept every year that our highest ambition is just to qualify for the Champions League, then that means I haven’t understood a thing about Milan.”
“For now, the team is holding its own. If Ruben Amorim, with the positive spirit he’s brought, manages to turn things around for the better and go all the way in the Europa League with a squad that lacks depth, we’ll all be happy. But I doubt it, just as the entire Italian soccer world does,” he added.
Boban was also very candid in his assessment of Ruben Amorim, who has been at the helm of Milan since this summer: “It’s still early, but I never like it when they play with a back three. Things went better against Lecce than in other matches, but we’re still at the beginning of the process—we need to give him some time. He has to prove himself with results.”
In closing, Zvonimir Boban crossed over to the other side of the Naviglio to talk about Inter’s Petar Sučić: “I think he should get more playing time because he’s a complete, extraordinary player with a lot of class and courage. It’s clear he doesn’t feel comfortable. If he keeps this up, I don’t know how much sense it makes for him to stay at Inter. He’s one of the best in the world in his position.”
Having joined Inter from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer of 2025, Sucic made 34 league appearances last season but often came off the bench: out of 3,060 available minutes, he played just over half (1,764). This year, he played 30 minutes in the Champions League against Real Madrid and 182 minutes in the league.
