Roma lost Donyell Malen early in the second half of their match against Como. The Dutch forward was sent off by referee Fabbri for a very hard tackle on Kaiki, leaving the Giallorossi a man down.
The incident occurred in the opening minutes of the second half at Sinigaglia Stadium during the 12:30 p.m. match. Malen delivered a hammering kick to his opponent’s leg, barely grazing the ball. This led Fabbri to immediately show him a red card, without consulting the VAR monitor.
The former Aston Villa forward faces a one-match suspension, which will force him to miss Roma’s next league match against Genoa. Malen is expected to return for the away match against Napoli, scheduled in two weeks.
Meanwhile, Endrick has become one of the most intriguing names ahead of the winter transfer window. The Brazilian, born in 2006, who joined Real Madrid for a total fee of nearly 60 million euros and is returning from a six-month loan at Lyon, is seeing very little playing time in the Spanish capital. This season, under José Mourinho, he has played just 4 minutes.
Roma has been closely monitoring the situation in recent months. Sporting director Tony D’Amico appeared to have reached an agreement with Real Madrid and the player, who reportedly expressed interest in a potential move to the Italian capital. The deal, however, fell through after Mourinho vetoed it, reportedly blocking the Brazilian’s departure.
