Sofia Goggia is once again showing off her athletic side on social media. In her latest Instagram Stories, the Italian champion shared some photos of her workouts at the gym, including explosive exercises and strength training. This signals her continued physical training during a crucial phase of her preparation, with the goal of being ready for her upcoming skiing challenges.
Her return to the gym comes after a difficult few weeks, marked by issues during her training camp in Argentina, which had forced Goggia to interrupt her preparation. The skier subsequently resumed training gradually, even returning to the slopes of the Stelvio.
In the new stories, the focus is entirely on the exercises. On one hand, there are medicine ball jumps—a drill that requires coordination, control, and quick reactions. On the other, there are lifts with a barbell that looks particularly heavy, highlighting the strength component of the session.
These images capture a phase of athletic training, though they do not, on their own, allow us to assess the level of recovery she has achieved. After the forced break, the priority remains to gradually regain the energy and consistency needed to tackle a demanding season. Goggia has already announced that she will skip the giant slalom in Sölden on October 24. The next target for her return to competition is the giant slalom in Killington, in the United States, on November 28, but her path forward remains dependent on her physical condition and the progress of her recovery.
