China’s Ruoning Yin won the Buick LPGA Shanghai, clinching the title at the end of the fourth and final round thanks to a comeback against South Korea’s Hye-Jin Choi, who had led the standings since the first day. For the 24-year-old, this marks her seventh victory on the LPGA Tour and her second of the season, following her win at her home tournament in 2024.

Yin began the final round two strokes behind the leader but was unable to make up ground on the front nine, which she finished with a birdie and a bogey. Choi, however, also encountered some difficulties on the front nine, recording a birdie and two bogeys.

The situation changed on the 10th hole, where Yin made a birdie that allowed her to catch up to the South Korean at the top of the leaderboard. The two players then maintained the same pace, both scoring a birdie on the 12th and remaining tied over the next three holes.

The turning point came down the stretch. On the 16th hole, Yin made another birdie, taking the lead on her own for the first time. The Chinese player then gained another stroke on the 17th, solidifying her lead over her rival.

With a final round of 68, Yin finished the tournament at 11 under par, securing the victory ahead of Choi, who finished at 10 under after a final round of 71, highlighted by a birdie on the 18th. The South Korean, still seeking her first title on the U.S. tour, thus finished the tournament in second place.

Third place went to another South Korean, Amy Yang, who rounded out the podium with a total score of 8 under par.
