Napoli and Tortona Were Also Fined

Following the measures adopted by the FIP after the fourth round of Serie A basketball, Napoli and Tortona (in addition to Scafati) will also have to pay a fine. Jasmin Repeša’s team also received a warning for a malfunction of mandatory equipment (main scoreboards).
Here is the official statement:
“NAPOLIBASKET. A fine of 1,200.00 euros for collective and sporadic insults and threats from the crowd toward the referees [Art. 27.4bc RG, Art. 27.5bc RG rec., Art. 24.2b RG].”
“BERTRAM TORTONA. A fine of 600.00 euros for collective and sporadic insults by the crowd toward the referees [Art. 27.4bc RG (revised), Art. 24.2b RG].”
The fine imposed on Scafati was far more severe; for failing to comply with the provisions regarding roster composition, the club must pay 50,000 euros: “LONGOBARDI SCAFATI. A fine of 50,000.00 euros because, after notifying the FIP via email on October 8, 2026, of the switch from the 5+5 format to the 6+6 format, it listed only five Italian-trained players on the game sheet, failing to meet the minimum number of Italian-trained players required to be listed on the game sheet. The game is ratified with the result achieved on the court, as it is more favorable to the opposing team, Costa Bologna [Art. 13.4, paragraph 2, DOA],” states the FIP ruling.
The penalty comes at a very difficult time for Bucchi’s team, which remains stuck at zero points after the first four games of the season following losses to Udine, Varese, Verona, and, indeed, Virtus Bologna.
