Milan Transfer Market: Gonçalo Ramos Is Already Thinking About Leaving the Rossoneri

“Amorim called me and told me he wanted me. Now I’m really playing in my natural position.” So says Gonçalo Ramos. In an interview with Canal 11, the Portuguese forward revealed some behind-the-scenes details about his transfer to Milan, explaining that he had already decided in January to leave PSG, but was unable to finalize the deal at that time.
“I wanted to leave PSG as early as January, but it wasn’t easy, and the club was against it too,” said the striker, who burst onto the scene while playing for Benfica. The turning point came during the World Cup, when he was contacted by Milan and received a decisive call from Ruben Amorim: “He told me that together we would achieve great things. I thanked him for his trust.”
For now, the decision to join the Rossoneri is proving to be a positive one. Before accepting the offer, Ramos wanted to gather information about the Milan environment, receiving encouraging feedback from those who had already spent time at Milanello: “I like being here and I’m enjoying everything. At PSG, I wasn’t playing in my natural position, but now I can do what I’m good at,” explained the forward, who is pleased with his new experience.”
During the interview, the Portuguese player also spoke about his relationship with Luka Modric, his teammate and locker-room neighbor: “We get along very well. He seems very quiet, but when it’s time to joke around, he joins in actively.”
Despite his new adventure at Milan, Gonçalo Ramos hasn’t forgotten the club that nurtured him and launched his professional soccer career. Benfica continues to hold a special place in his heart, and the forward doesn’t rule out a return in the future: “I always watch their games. It’s hard to make promises, but I hope to return one day,” he confided. His bond with the Portuguese team is so strong that he rules out any other options in his home country: “In Portugal, I could only play for Benfica—I’ve spent my whole life there. Playing for another club would feel like a betrayal; I could never do that.”
