The fifth matchday of the LVF A1 Fineco came to a close on Wednesday, October 28. It had begun four days earlier with the first early match and continued on Saturday with, among other results, a victory for Numia Vero Volley Milano. Notable results included Prosecco Doc A.Carraro Imoco Conegliano’s decisive victory over Megabox Ond. Savio Vallefoglia and Savino Del Bene Scandicci’s tie-break win over Igor Gorgonzola Novara.

In Conegliano, it was no contest. Coach Daniele Santarelli’s team overwhelmed Vallefoglia—which had entered the match undefeated—without giving their opponents a chance to really get into the game. Despite the fatigue from the Super Cup, the Venetian team dominated from start to finish, wrapping up the match in just an hour and a quarter with set scores of 25-15, 25-16, and 25-11.

The match between Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Igor Gorgonzola Novara was more evenly matched, with both teams looking to bounce back after a difficult start to the season. In the end, it was the Tuscan team coached by Gaspari that came out on top, managing to overcome their difficulties and prevail at the end of a five-set battle.

Scandicci showed character and unity, coming back twice against the Piedmontese team. After losing the first set 19-25, the home team evened the score with a decisive 25-16 victory. Novara then regained control of the match by winning the third set 25-17, but the Tuscan team responded again in the fourth set, winning 25-19 and forcing a tiebreaker.

In the decisive set, Aleksic took center stage, having already been a standout in the Super Cup and as a former player for the opposing team. With four of her 17 total points and two of her seven blocks, she played a decisive role in Scandicci’s run, which ended with a 15-11 victory, securing an important win.
