Riccardo Trevisani slams both today’s and yesterday’s Juventus: “Appalling”

The 2-0 loss to Genoa has left its mark at Juventus, fueling doubts and criticism about the team’s performance. Among the harshest critics is Riccardo Trevisani, who, during the show “Pressing,” delivered a scathing assessment of the Bianconeri’s performance, also focusing on the Turin-based team’s offensive struggles.

“Juve was appalling—one of the worst games I can remember,” was the journalist’s assessment, as he made no secret of his disappointment with what he saw on the field. According to Trevisani, the loss to Genoa highlighted problems that go beyond the result and primarily concern the team’s ability to build plays and create scoring opportunities.

One of the most concerning aspects is the team’s offensive performance. Trevisani pointed out that Juventus has the 13th-ranked offense in the league—a statistic he considers particularly significant given that Luciano Spalletti is at the helm.

“We can say whatever we want, but Spalletti is certainly not a defensive coach,” the journalist observed, highlighting the gap between the coach’s playing philosophy and the team’s performance so far. Such a modest offensive output is a wake-up call for a team that should be aiming to be a contender in the league.

In his interview with Pressing, Trevisani broadened the discussion to include transfer decisions and the characteristics of the forwards available to Juventus. “He hasn’t been put in the ideal position to work on the offense, having to find solutions with players like Loïs Openda, Randal Kolo Muani, Jonathan David, and Nick Woltemade.”
