Frosinone: When Will Raimondo Return? “Serious Injury”—His Condition

Frosinone is flying high in the league but must deal with an injury to its star striker, Antonio Raimondo: the Ciociari forward was injured during the victory over Torino, a match from the 10th round of Serie A.
Around the 30-minute mark of the first half, Raimondo suffered a hard tackle on his left ankle by Torino’s Aboukhlal: his ankle twisted unnaturally, and the 2004-born player remained on the ground in pain. The player then tried to get back up but collapsed back to the ground and was replaced by Birligea.
There is concern in Frosinone for the forward, who has scored eight goals in the first ten league games: upcoming tests will clarify the extent of the injury, but coach Massimiliano Alvini has described it as a “serious problem.”
“We’re disappointed; it’s too early to make a diagnosis—the medical staff will handle that. We have to wait for the diagnostic tests tomorrow. There’s certainly concern—let’s see how it goes. We hope it’s nothing serious, but it’s definitely a serious injury.” Raimondo will almost certainly miss the next league match against Cagliari, scheduled for next Saturday.
Despite the unexpected absence of their center forward, Frosinone closed out the match at the Stirpe Stadium with a decisive 2-0 victory. After a first half lacking in excitement, the Giallazzurri took the lead in the 48th minute with Ghedjemis—scoring his first league goal of the season—who beat Perri with a left-footed shot from distance off an assist from Kvernadze. The second goal came in stoppage time from Calò—who had already scored in the previous three matches—sealing the victory on his third attempt. With this victory, Alvini’s team moves up to 20 points and solidifies its sixth-place standing, while Abate’s Torino, suffering its second consecutive loss, remains stuck at 13 points.
