A long layoff is on the horizon for Frosinone striker Antonio Raimondo. The Ciociari forward, who has scored eight goals in his first ten league games, was forced to leave the game in the first half of the match against Torino after a hard tackle by Aboukhlal.

His ankle twisted unnaturally, and the player was unable to return to the game. Medical tests confirmed the grim diagnosis: the forward has suffered a contusion and sprain involving multiple ligaments in his left ankle. The Lazio club announced that the rehabilitation process has begun, and the player will be out for at least two months: he won’t return before 2027.

This is also bad news for the national team, as Roberto Mancini was counting on him for the mid-November call-ups. The Azzurri coach was counting heavily on the player to bolster an attack already missing Moise Kean, Gianluca Scamacca, and Giacomo Raspadori, all of whom are injured. Palermo’s rising star Dominic Vavassori, who is shining in Serie B with the Rosanero, could thus step in to support the Esposito brothers.

Raimondo’s performances had also attracted attention on the transfer market. The player’s rights belong to Bologna, with whom he is under contract through 2028 with an option for 2029, while his loan to Ciociaria is set to expire on June 30. The Emilia-based club’s valuation is reportedly around 25 million euros, and among the interested clubs is, above all, Luciano Spalletti’s Juventus, which is said to be considering a move as early as January. According to reports in recent weeks, Milan, Inter, and Roma have also shown interest in the forward.
